Pavilion Project

To The Glory Of God

Last fall, we were given a gift by some friends towards the construction of a pavilion. We were blown away by the generosity of this gift and also by God's perfect timing. Not only will this new pavilion create more opportunities for families in the community to utilize the camp, but it will also be a game changer as we navigate the challenges of COVID-19 during summer camp.

Our theme as we build this new pavilion is, "To The Glory of God" from Psalm 115: 1 - "Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!"

Construction has begun. We are so excited and will keep adding pictures to this gallery as the project proceeds.

It was mid March when David Smoker with Smoker Excavating rolled into camp with his equipment. We were excited to have David here to do the excavation work because his past involvement with other projects gave him an extensive knowledge of camp. Because we wanted the pavilion to be at the same level as the Alpine Center, David had to bring in a lot of fill to raise the ground level. He was able to use the shale from our archery range as the fill to do this.

Site Location

Where will we put it?

We have decided to build this new pavilion just to the side of the Alpine, towards the Pinewood Cabins. The pavilion will be 30x60 and will be perfect for a wide variety of activities and events. Once completed there will be electric and water available also.

Prayer of Dedication

On March 23, a few of the PYC staff and board gathered at the site of the new pavilion to pray over the project. We prayed a blessing for those who gave to the project, safety during the construction, and dedication over the new pavilion.
